Removing Water Particulate From Tap Water

Water particulate is a fine particle, such as sand, clay, part of a plant or subdivision of a liquid matter that is suspended in tap water.

Source of Contamination: Wind water and ice often carry eroding soil and rotten plants into the water supply.

Health Risk: Particulate matter is not considered a serious drinking water contaminant and hence there are no known health risk associated with it.

Most people simply consider particulate material unsightly so they want to have it removed from their tap water.

Drinking Water Standard: The EPA stipulates the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for dangerous tap water contaminants. The MCL is the maximum allowable level that a particular contaminant can exist in the water supply.

Since particulates in water are not considered a health risk, there is no applicable MCL for this contaminant.

Household Water Treatment: How embarrassing would it be to give a guest in your home a glass of water that has particulates swirling around in it? Surely, you'd want your tap water to be as clear and pleasing to look at as possible - right?

To remove fine particles and have the cleanest, safest drinking water possible, you'll need to acquire a home water treatment system in your home. Most of these are reasonably priced and highly effective.

To ensure you are getting a quality home water filter system - look for a water filter that is certified to NSF 42 or NSF 53 standard. The NSF is an independent body that provides product certification and safety audits.

This wholehouse water filter is certified to NSF 42 standard whilst this undercounter water filter is certified to NSF 53 standard.
